Liber Transformed showcase

Liber Transformed was a juried book arts exhibition celebrating the evolving art of bookmaking — from centuries-old binding traditions to experimental contemporary forms like zines, photobooks, and digital media. Co-curated and branded alongside designer Leyla Gokcek, the show invited artists to interrogate what a "book" can be and how storytelling through the medium continues to transform.

The visual identity was built around a bold editorial tension between old and new — mirroring the exhibition's conceptual core. Juniper, an ornate display typeface with a distinctly vintage character, anchored the brand while being pushed into something fresh through oversized, rotated, and expressive typographic layouts. Set against a vivid yellow-to-cream gradient with teal blue as the primary ink color, the pairing struck a balance between historic craft and contemporary energy — nodding to the tradition of bookmaking while feeling decidedly current.

This palette and type system carried consistently across all touchpoints: call-for-entry posters, gallery wall signage, promotional materials, and a printed catalog. When the pandemic relocated the exhibition to Instagram, the identity translated seamlessly to the digital format — demonstrating the brand's flexibility across both physical and screen-based contexts.
